The fair traditionally gathers exhibitors from 10-30 countries.
The Year of Peace and Creation will define the concept of the upcoming fair. The exhibition will be titled “Boundless Book World”. Belarus' national stand will be consonant with the theme of the fair and will showcase current trends in book publishing.
Belarus' national stand will be arranged in a form of a makeshift studio where new books will be launched, and interviews, dialogues and debate with journalists will be held. The national stand will feature unique art objects created within the framework of the Fatherland project. One of these art objects is a giant bison that symbolizes the modern Belarus. The exhibition will be broadcast live on the media resources of the Information Ministry and its partners from 12.00 to 18.00.
The central site of the fair will display children's and youth literary projects themed around “peace” and “creation”.
State-run TV channels in collaboration with the Culture Ministry will be showing films based on famous books.
The Education Quarter will debut at the 30th edition of the Minsk International Book Fair. It will bring together authors of educational literature and editors from the Education Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help arrange book presentations at the International Quarter. The presentations will be made by diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus.
The international symposium of writers “The Writer and Time” will be an integral part of the Minsk International Book Fair. This year writers, representatives of publishing houses and the printing industry are going to discuss “The non-book world” topic. Anyone can take part in the symposium by asking questions online during the broadcast on the YouTube channel.
The third LitUP literary startup project was launched on 11 January. More than 200 applications have already been submitted to take part in the project. The final of the competition will take place on 25 March. The winners will receive a priority right to publish their books in publishing houses of the Republic of Belarus with a circulation of up to 1,000 copies.
A traditional poetry bus will be running to the exhibition center at 14 Pobeditelei Avenue. Everyone will be invited to take a free-of-charge ride and listen to a live declamation of famous writers.
