Historical digression

 

The Krupki region is situated in the north-east of the Minsk oblast. The region was founded on July 17, 1924. It was included in Minsk oblast on February 20, 1938. Modern borders have existed since 1960. The area is 2136 square kilometers. The town of Krupki is an administrative centre. The region borders on the Borisov and Berezina regions of the Minsk oblast, the Lepel, Chashniki and Tolochin regions of the Vitebsk oblast, the Krugloye and Belinichi regions of the Mogilev oblast.
